The article examines methodological and methodical issues of studying electoral orientations and projecting election results. It presents the data obtained within pre-election surveys conducted by the Institute for Social Research and the Social Monitoring Centre throughout the election campaign in 2002 in Ukraine as well as sociological projections and the results obtained within the exit poll conducted in the day of election.
