Peculiarities of the gender-role socialization of children-orphans at general-education boarding schools (theoretical aspect)

The author considers briefly the essence of the gender-role socialization and its peculiarities as for children-orphans under conditions of boarding schools on the contemporary stage of the reformation of the state’s guardianship institutions. The contradictions between the requirements of the society to a person well-prepared to the family life and the possibility of a boarding school to prepare a child to it are indicated. It is emphasized that the absence of a family as the main factor of the formation of a personality complicates the process of gender-role socialization of children and hampers the mastering of masculine/feminine models of behavior.
