The article represents an attempt to classify various families in today’s Ukraine according to their composition and the type of their influence on the forma7 tion and development of the child’s personality. The results were achieved due to the generalization of some results of the research conducted by the State Institute for Family and Youth Problems and the Laboratory of Family Education of APS of Ukraine during the last eight years.
