This article is an attempt to find a basis for the systematization of the most famous variants of theoretical constructs of the conflict proposed by Western social science.

To achieve this goal, the author refers to the analysis of the publications of the leading representatives of conflictological direction of modern social science and known experts in the methodology of science.
