The article seeks to generalize the experience to family children’s homes that are seen as a social institutions called to provide an effective care for orphans and children deprived of parental environment. The focus is put on the routine practices of family children’s homes, the most common problems they face and the needs of children in care. The development of social services providing support to family children’s homes is seen as a priority of the state policy in the field.
