1981 graduated with honours from the Zhytomyr Agricultural Institute, majoring in “Economics and Organization of Agriculture”.

1997–1998, received training at the Institute of Economic Development of the World Bank under the “Project Analysis in Agriculture” program.

2008–2009, studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) under the Fulbright Program in the “Rural development and economic development of communities”.

2004 to the present – Head of the Department of Economics and Policy of Agrarian Transformations of the State Institution “Institute for Economics and Forecasting, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.”

1988–2003 – Deputy Head of the Economic and Social Policy Department of the Institute of Agrarian Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Awards and achievements:

2016 – awarded the Letter of Recognition of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for many years of conscientious work, high professionalism, and a significant contribution to the development of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine and on the occasion of the Agricultural Worker’s Day.

2017 – awarded a Letter of Acknowledgement from the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for many years of fruitful work, significant achievements in professional activity, a significant personal contribution to the development of scientific research at the institute and on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the institution.

2017 – awarded the “Pride of ZhNAEU” medal on the 95th anniversary of the Zhytomyr National Agroecological University.

2018 – awarded the Memorial Award of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in honour of the 100th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

2021 – awarded a Letter of Honorable Recognition from the directorate of the National Research Fund of Ukraine for significant personal contribution to developing the competitive grant funding system for scientific research by Ukrainian scientists.

Member of the editorial board of the scientific journals “Economics and Forecasting”, “Economics of Ukraine”, “Economic and Regional Studies”/”Studia Ekonomiczne i Regionalne” (Poland).

The political economy of agricultural and rural development; theoretical and methodological principles of formation of local food systems; the methodology and practice of the human rights approach to the formation of land policy and the protection of farmers’ rights; development of conceptual principles for ensuring spatial justice in land use and land ownership; state regulation of rural development based on inclusiveness; modernization of the state support mechanisms for farms providing food support for vulnerable population groups; development of scientific and applied approaches to the formation of a solidarity economy of agriculture.
